BULK BUY for MHP CAI!!!!!PLZ RESPOND

Do we have about 9 people willing to go in on a BULK BUY deal?!?!For the MHP Cold Air Intake? I really want one of these and I talked to a local performance parts shop and they said that we need about 9 people to go in on it and if I can get any feedback in here I will have them go ahead and talk to MHP about a price.(I will do this anyway but I would like some feedback) ANY TAKERS? FOR THE RIGHT PRICE?

If the price is right

then I'll get one. Are you looking at the carbonfiber one or the black chrome or what? Actually, I'm kinda favoring the new injen intake for the 1.8/2.0L engines that Mitch is selling.

I can get you the MHP intakes for a decent price if you are really wanting them & can get 10 orders. I've already talked to MHP about it but I've been doing more with the Injens & AEM's I didnt really see a point in it. So, if there are any people that would be more interested in the MHP intake than the Injen (238.00) or AEM (200.00ish) and you can get 10 together, I can get them for you for around 290.00 (you buy them for 329.00 from MHP last I checked). Just e-mail me. If I see enough people interested in these over the Injen & AEM, I'll try to start carrying them on the site after this initial order. But its hard for me to see a reason to have 3 intakes for the same engine!! But I know people like an option so if its in demand, I'll do my best.

Ok, you take the Injen intake($238)...ADD $52.00 for the splash guard...Another $45 for the K&N Filter and you get a price of $335. So wouldn't it be better to get the MHP intake($290?) which COMES with the K&N Filter and better yet it comes with a BYPASS VALVE instead of the splash guard! I like the Bypass Valve better personally. And the sweet look of the Carbon Fiber? Sounds like a good deal to me btw I am gonna get my local shop to get a price from MHP to see if he can beat your price Mitch...Hope you don't mind, just trying to get the BEST deal I might come crawling back later. Don't hate too hard

Well, the filter is one of the smaller parts to an intake. The intake itself is the most important. I feel the Injen or the AEM is a better intake than the MHP (both AEM & Injen have put years of research into their intakes & know what they are doing) Now, Im not saying the MHP is bad, I've heard good things about it. With the K&N, I talked to Injen about it & they said the Injen filter is made from the exact material as the K&N & designed the exact same way. Jackson racing tested the Injen filter next to the K&N & the Injen was tested to be a better flowing filter. So taking that into consideration, you dont need really need the K&N because it probably doesnt justify the extra price. Now, some people do still like the K&N because its a proven name and thats fine (I like the K&N myself but I cant see enough of a gain to pay the extra) With the bypass valve, that should be added to the Injen so I would be able to sell the Injen for about 275.00. Now, I dont mind you checking with your local price but I doubt they can get a better price. I've already tried to talk MHP down more than the price they gave me & they said they have no room to budge on these. They dont mass produce these like AEM or Injen so there isnt much profit margin on them. But you are still welcome to check it out. If I can get 10 orders, I may be able to drop the price a little more (it will all depend on how much MHP charges to ship them to me) but it wont be much. The shipping is the deciding factor there. Now, I can say I think the MHP is a great looking intake. They did a good job on the Eye factor as long as it performs just as good (which I havent heard bad on the performance) I do want to say Im not saying this being mean or anything. Im just trying to state the facts & my opinion (which is the Injen or AEM would be better ) But if we do work up this deal, I plan on getting an extra to test out. It could be that I change my mind (which would be hard to do because Injen really really impressed me with this system they designed for the 2.0L!) So, mainly, the big price factor on the MHP is that added K&N which I dont think is worth it (I have seen tests between it & the Injen...its not worth the extra 50.00 in my opinion) I do believe the 45.00 bypass valve is a must have for anyone that has any rain or snow in there area. So, Im going to end this excessivly long message now!!

Question Injen vs. MHP

One thing I see (actually do not see) on the MHP is the MAP sensor. I do see it in the Injen. Micth, how about the AEM, is it a cold air or a shorty? Also where would the bypass go in the Injen intake?

See the 2 Red hoses in the middle of the MHP intake with a small piece of carbon fiber pipe in between them? I would assume thats where the MHP would go. But you know whats weird, that looks like its going to a smaller pipe meaning the intake pipe is bigger than the MAF sensor. IF thats the case, this intake is a 3" intake which is rather large based on all of the discussion I've heard from people. The Intake is a 2.5" pipe which should be perfect for our engines. And the MAF goes in that same spot. The Bypass valve: Imagine the intake in 3 parts, the top pipe (from the throttle body), the MAF, & the bottom pipe. The 2 pipes are 2.5" but they have a larger end on the MAF connection side (that would be the middle parts where the 2 hoses are) since the MAF is a 2.75" inlet they did this to fit it straight on. The bypass valve would be 2.75" as well & it would have one side on that larger end pipe & the other goes on the MAF just like it was the other end of the pipe. Does that make sense? I'll try to take a pic if I can which would be easier to figure out. The AEM is a shorty. AEM says they researched it & found there wasnt a big enough increase in power to warrant the CAI production so they stuck with the short ram. I have the AEM for 199.00 (and it would need the bypass valve & it is 78.00 below retail) and the Injen & bypass valve I was able to get to 277.00 (which is 75.00 below retail). Like I said, if we get the 10 orders for the MHP's, I can get them for about 40.00 below retail (290.00)

Cool No MHP for me...

I like the Injen, I was just curious about the where the MAF would be in the MHP intake. Also I read on the Racing Beat website that they tried a shorty intake on the project of the MP3 and had no success gaining any horsepower, hence the reason the MP3 came with no aftermarket intake. Then I would not understand where the AEM intake would benefit our engines.

HOW ABOUT THIS!?!?!

I can get the MHP tuning Carbon Fiber Cold Air Intake for $275.00!!!! And the Black Chrome for only ten dollars more. Sound good to anyone? Let me know because I need 10 People. You will have to add shipping but this is a good price for an awsome intake.

The MAF goes right where you see the two couplings at, in the middle. They have a piece of plastice or something in there temporaly holding the pipe in one piece just for pics.

Question

MP3 Owner, does the MHP deal you are working on has the K&N filter included? (since in their web sale does not include it)

Talking

Actually it does come with the K&N Filter it just does NOT come with the recharge kit which is what you use to clean the K&N Filter.
