Should there be a Mazda3 section?

with the inevitable end of the 3rd gen Protege (), do you think we should start a 4th Gen./Mazda3 section to group all the Mazda3 talk that's been going on in the Mazda General section? I think so!

I agree...

There is tremendous interest in the Mazda 3...especially due to its increase in horsepower over the previous generation Protege.

The 3 needs it's own board.

Oh please...let's not go down that ridiculous road. If you go by that logic, we should kick the 2nd gen owners out, as there cars' 1.5L is a dog...but we don't. Mazda North America Operations has recognized this forum, and only this forum, as it caters to all Proteges and associated 323s from 1990 and beyond, and even has sections for the 1986-89 323 (and had a 1981-85 GLC section, but it wasn't used). We're an all in one stop shop...so when the next generation car comes out this November, there will be another section created.

Don't forget...it still seems that the next generation car will be called a Protege in Canada...as renaming a car that outsells the Civic in the Quebec market (something the Protege does nowhere else in North America...due to it's french language name) is silly in terms of a marketing side of things, and that's Mazda Canada's arguement with MNAO...one which they may win.
What kind of ridiculous road? I really don't follow your logic. He says that there is a lot of interest generated from the new engine avaliable. Your responce is "let's take out the 2nd gen section"? Now, it could be I'm just recovering from last night, but the guy made a valid point, and I'm trying to figure out the reason for your responce. It's like listening to Dennis Miller on Monday Night Football. If this is a "one stop shop" recognized my Mazda North America, I think they would appreciate a 4th gen section, as would most of the other members.

Does the 4th gen deserve it's own section? Yes, I think it does. What's the point of waiting until it's on sale? Other forums create new sections just so the other ones aren't cluttered up with talk about the future models (for example maxima.org has a 6th gen section already, has for a while. viperclub.org has had a section for the new generation viper, has tons of posts in it and I don't think anyone on the board has gotten delivery of their new viper yet).

BTW, I remember an old thread that got REALLY nasty because you were bombing on some n00b that the new Pro would be called a '3' in Canada, even though it wasn't 'official' yet. I know you get a lot more info from the Mazda corp than us regular joes, I just think it's really funny that as nasty as that thread got, it turns out that all that "I am superior to you, n00b because I'm down with Mazda North America" is for nothing, it may in fact still be called the protege in Canada. Owned!

p.s. I'm still a bit drunk, so if my post fails to make sense, forgive me

I'm all in support of a 4th gen section, but not a specific board for the 3...like the silly MP3/Protege-5 board that ignores any Protege sedan beneath the MP3 and presumably the Mazdaspeed model too.
Perhaps I mis-read your post. I'm sorry. But I thought this thread was about a 4th gen SECTION on this forum. That's what I was getting at/hoping for, I wasn't saying there should be a seperate forum. My bad!

Well...

I meant new section, not a completely new website. A new section for the Mazda 3 could be added easily.

The cost and work associated with a new web site is not needed yet...many do not realize the amount of time, work and money it costs to create something like this.

But, a section for the Mazda 3 is definitely needed. This will be proven once Mazda releases official photos and availability dates for the Mazda 3.
