yeah, but thats without the side airbags. besides, if you wanna be safe in a car accident, dont buy a mazda3, buy a Ford F250 or Hummer H2

side airbags are still an option, while cars with tested with airbags do get better ratings, however cars with standard side airbags would probably dominate the top of the list of safest cars.

and though the huge trucks and SUVs may appear to be bigger and safer, but open a whole other world of problems. not only do you get higher rollover rates, but i saw a few studies where drivers and passengers legs and head had serious injuries from small cockpits and cramped driver positions. test footage of large SUVs crashing with smaller cars show me that while an SUV owner's motivation may be to buy a large SUV to "protect their children", they put other drivers and passengers in smaller cars in high risk of severe injury in accident situations. dont get me wrong, i think SUVs are good vehicles, but I dont like the few people who buy them for what could be all the bad reasons.

my friend and his dad were in a F250 super duty when this Toyota echo ran a red light....the whole side of the car was crumpled in. the car was totalled. you know what happened to the truck, a small dent in the bumper about the size of a fist

now, this is just pure luck, because the tow hooks on the truck hit the pillars of the car adn just pushed it, but come on, how awesome is that!! the truck dominated that crash!!

Physics. You can deny it - but it is a LAW...

Makes more nervous when the big trucks HAVE TO RIDE MY A$$ ... I know i would lose.

Yeah knowing about physics can make you paranoid... D= I hate thinking about what my car would turn into when a truck has his headlights shining right through the rear of my hatch window. Those are the truck drivers that tail our little imports on purpose knowing that they intimidate you with size and if anything happens, they will turn your car into a crushed tin can.

Dentinger - I don't think it's really that awesome when someone's car gets crumpled like that.

i find it awesome that the truck wasnt even damaged.....i dont look at the people inside the car accident (everyone was fine tho) i look at the damage (because im a guy)
like, come on, who here watches NASCAR just for the crashes??
who here constantly types in "car accidents" into the search bar on YOUTUBE??
.....my point exactly
its just awesome because of the stereotypes, thats all....you know, that trucks are safer than toyota Echo's or Smart Cars.....
