Honda Help Anyone :P

OK, need some help with a '92 Civic...

It's not mine, but you guys seem to know your stuff.

Issue was the car wouldn't start, just kept turning, like it was trying to turn over.
We changed the plugs, they were swimming in oil. New plugs seem to allow the car to function.

But for how long...

Don't know if this was just bad plugs and everything is OK now, or if this is some bigger problem that needs to be fixed.

Any ideas?

If your spark plugs have oil on them you might want to have a look at the piston rings. In no way should there be motor oil touching the spark plugs. Also, if it was gasoline on the spark plugs instead of oil, the spark plugs could have just been old and fouled. Try to do compression checks for each cylinder and you might find your problem. Did every spark plug have oil on it, or was it a select cylinder or two?

Oh, and BTW, here is an excellent site for Honda tech and faqs.
http://www.hondacivicforum.com/default.asp

I am usually at hondaaccordforum, though, as that is my wifes car.

Yeh, I was going to do that (using same username ) but it's a friend's car, and I just wanted to post a quick question before bringing it in.

I'll most likely look into Civvy forums if the issue develops.
