Perhaps if they'd flatten the roof and have the rear window a bit larger at a sharper angle, I'd like it a little better. But I don't know if it is designed the way it is for aerodynamics / fuel economy.

I hate to say it... it hurts... but the tail looks kinda live a cavalier

Otherwise this has the possiblity it could displace the 1st gen as my favorite!!!

As for the hatchback pictures those are two different cars in the two different angles, or else they're really just photoshopped entirely.

After looking at it again, look at the A-pillar on the first pic. Does that not look a little odd to anyone?? I know someone said these were confirmed, but I'm thinking these were photoshopped.

Yup, as I noted the two pics aren't matching up to each other... and the lighting / reflections are messed up (fake shadow too?). It was "confirmed" by "someone who is an insider" on Edmunds.com... yeah...

It could be a sketch pretty close to the real thing, though.

You know what. The more and more I look at it, the more and more I like it. Especially the wagon.

Unhappy

I don't know about you guys but the look of the sedan reminds me of the Neon!!

maybe it's just riding too high or something but I'm not a big fan. The wagon looks slightly better but I'm still not convinced.

The sedan, from the beltline up is almost dead-on last-generation VW Passat. Especially the C-pillar area.

Yep...thats what I saw too.

If this is it, Mazda sure hasn't gone too radical on the design change. Its going to look dated even before it reaches the show-room.

As well, it is riding too high as Tornado said...and I don't believe this is a photochop, but its probably the closest pic to the real thing so far...

The wheels on the hatchback are different from pictures to pictures. The top one looks like the 16" Mazda 6 wheels and the bottom one looks like the 03 P5 wheels.

EWW! I just noticed....

Look at the tailpipe on those pictures. What is that? a 1" exit pipe?

Yea, that's one of the reasons I don't trust these pics. There has to be at least a little bit of photoshopping involved.

There are a lot of other discrepancies... I was kind of curious which one people would notice... hint... antenna... mirrors... the color of the car... etc.

Here... let me make sure this gets read

HINT: THE PICTURES OF THE HATCHBACK ARE PHOTOSHOPPED!!! THEY ARE NOT REAL PICTURES!

Just noticed the wheels on the two hatch pictures are different, yet same 'liscence plate'. Excellent photoshopping skills, but still noticeable, especially in the tailights on both cars.

*sigh*

For the record, my comments were in relation to the Protege 3, not to the hatchback which is without a doubt a photochop.

Chill, its all good!
