Car of the Year.....Mazda6!!!!

For those that didn't see it Motoring 2003 on TSN in Canada named the Mazda6 the car of the year. It won in the family sedan class and the overall winner. They called it the new benchmark in the class and the best FWD car they've ever driven.

Can't wait to get my hands on one

Dear god I don't care about AWD. Just bring the car! lol

220HP/192TQ with I/H/E, Diablo chip, Intercooled turbo/wastegate/blowoff. OMG.

And 19's, drop on JIC suspension, big brake conversion w/4 pot calipers.

Shaved door handles, remote door open, MazdaSpeed6 Version side mirrors, shaved door mouldings, sport grille.

DRooooooooooooooL..............

im about 100% sure that the MS6 would have more HP than 220.

260-280 perhaps?

I drove the new 6. The V-6 is a Ford and you can tell. Handles great but I will still buy a Honda Accord so that I get a Jap powerplant.

Lets not be insulting here. Yes, I know Mazda is a Japanese company, but Ford is not. Therefore, the engine is not Japanese, it is Japanese-American. Remember the Ford Focus recalls? Do you really want Fords hands on the engine in your Mazda? I don't.

Ford didn't have a hand on the engine, it's actually the other way around, Mazda took the Duratec block and built a completely different engine from it.

What is duratech? Ford? Mazda? Hmm.

I did not call anyone a "Jap." I simply referred to a Japanese engine as a Jap engine, Jap being short for Japanese. You fellas are a little too PC. Oh no, I mean "politically correct." Wouldn't want to be derogatory. I thought someone might be interested in the fact that I had driven a 6, not how I abbreviate in my typing. I will give you deragotory, but true...

YOU ARE A DUMB@SS!

how can you tell it's a Ford engine as soon as you drive it? Can you give more specific examples.

Think Jewish people don't want you to use the term "Jew." What about Japanese Jewish people?

As I read through this forum I find that it is more of a place to argue rather than share information.

I drove the car. It is a good car. It is not a Protege. I did not get to spend an entire day with the car, but relative to all the Mazdas I have owned, which were all J-A-P-A-N-E-S-E, the 6 accelerates more like the Contours but with a little more ***.

Have any of you driven the 6? Let me know when you do.

BTW, does anyone know where the expression "The Man" orginiated. It is a derogatory term that has been overused so much that it has lost it original meaning. I hope all of you who buy into this PC bullshit continue to do so. In the end, you won't learn anything about Proteges or Mazdas in general, just who shortens words to get the point across quickly. Isn't this forum about, Proteges/Mazdas?

POS accord? Oh, I get it now. If it is a Protege or any Mazda, it is the best, hands down. Good for you. If you buy what they build w/o question, you get what they build.

Too deep for you? Is the Accord a competitor for the 6? Yes. Maybe Mazda can improve it next year. Between the two, Honda wins with me. Not allowed to have an opinion here? Well, let me just jump on the Bandwagon Idiot. I love all Mazdas, even the ones with Ford engines. Oh hell, I love even one that is a Ford with a Mazda badge on it.

How was that?

And yes the Accord is competition. The new design entered at number 1.

However we are obvious Mazda enthusiasts on this site. So I'd say you'd get more positive feedback and discussion on http://www.superhonda.org/.

Unless you're on commision with Honda for new sales and I doubt that
