where to get oil line from
im making up my need to get and need to do list for my turbo install. I have most of the stuff bought and its slowly showing up, (Its like Christmas every other day!) And need to know where i should get the oil for the turbo from. I was going to use a oil relocation kit and a cooler. Here was the plan:
From original filter outlet,
to the new filter location,
out of the filter,
to the turbo,
to the cooler,
then into the pan.
Here is the thought process behind it, if the hose is out in the open for a while, it will cool it b4 it gets to the filter, the cool some more b4 it gets to the turbo, it gets heated by the turbo, then cooled back down b4 it goes into the motor.
Sound like a plan? or should i just cool it b4 the turbo then into the pan? any easier plans?

um....I would just simplify the process by tapping directly into the pan and then adding an aftermarket oil cooler. You shouldn't have to worry about where the is inl-line....just as long as you have one. I think you're making it too difficult on yourself.

For an oil cooler, buy the mazdaspeed one...if you do a search i believe there is a write-up on the install. as far as tapping oil for your turbo, tapping the pan is for the oil return line and needs to be done regardless. there are a few sources for the oil feed, and no the turbo doesnt "suck its own oil" it's fed by the oil pump...there are a few taps on the block or you can get a kit that screws into the filter location and has a fitting on it for the oil line, and then the filter goes over the top of it...again on this part do a search, and you should be able to locate it. hope this helps
