most ppl will use the IHI turbos just forthe simple fact, they like ease (don't we all) they bolt right up, no guesswork and they match the manifold and piping, etc...

There are a few that have gone thier own way and added a bigger hair dryer, custom manifold, piping, etc...

It comes down to time and money....and the saying goes.....speed costs money, how fast do you want to go?

Well the money isnt a issue if I get aproved for the 8k loan I applyed for. plus I have a great machinest who I have talked to and said he will make a manifold for whatever turbo I choose. I was looking at compressor maps last night. Still havnt found the right one yet. The Mitsu/Garrett TD05-16G is close but looks most efficent around around 15psi and I think im only going to run 12psi on this motor. I sent the pistons off to Swain tech coating in Ny to have the tops and skirts TB coated. So the block should hold 12psi or more. I still have one short fall of this car its an automatic. I have talked to a few people about making it a little stronger but have to see what it will cost for the stronger torque converter and other things.

If you have that kind of money why not just get a manual transmission?

Actually it's been about 4 1/2 months that I have been without it..... BUT it should be done soon. We are making a lot of process. The VJ-20 turbo gives me plenty of power even though heared that it doesn't flow as well as most turbos. I love it, and can't wait to get my car back. I'll keep you guys posted.
