Car is in the shop today having new clutch installed $350...*ouch*...ordered my 12:1 FMU, it's on it's way....waiting on injectors, fmu, oil lines, manifold and downpipe...Juan told me they should be shipped today....

saweet...!!

Matty was right about the clutch....Shop said not only is it just basically OEM replacement, it's the WRONG clutch !!! AND they gave me 2 Throwout bearings, no Pilot bearing....NEVER deal with EZ Clutch on Ebay !!!

The shop found me one for $225 locally, since the car was up on the rack I can't wait and order another....I have to find out who the manufacturer is but they GUARANTEED me it would have WAY more holding power than the stocker

macdaddyslomo March-2nd-2006 03:33 PM

should a new clutch have lighter pedal ???? I always thought a Pressure plate with more grip should require more effort to press the pedal....

Roddimus Prime March-2nd-2006 07:34 PM

nope, hydraulic is hydraulic. On yours you have a full face disk so they probably just added better friction material and the pressure plate is stock.

macdaddyslomo March-2nd-2006 07:48 PM

So you think it should hold up just fine then ?? I'd hate to spend $615 to put in a new clutch and have it burn up in a week

I dont plan on getting too crazy with it, Just going to rely on the stock wastegate for now

Roddimus Prime March-2nd-2006 07:52 PM

clutches are sensative to torque....if your turbo is going to make a fair bit of torque you should look for a complete clutch kit with a torque rating over 200-250tq I'd think. The boost bug will bite you and you'll be turning it up...the motor is strong enough...

I'm doing a big SPEC gb right now if you want a quote??

macdaddyslomo March-2nd-2006 07:55 PM

well it was a full kit..new Pressure Plate, new disk, new throwout bearing, and new pilot bearing....he just didnt give me a torque rating....

don't really have the money to buy another now..I still owe gary for a catback....

Roddimus Prime March-2nd-2006 08:00 PM

just hang it out there and see what it holds.
