Just Ordered my turbo manifold and Downpipe from Hiboost!!

Talked to Juan today.....He said the manifold is in stock...waiting on the downpipe, will be there in 2-3 days !!!!....Looking at a T25 on ebay...should be ordering it today too....

Just had to get that out there....I'm excited !!! :buttslay:

Roddimus Prime February-15th-2006 06:12 PM

another one bites the bug.....

make sure you get an oil/coolant cooled T25...they'll last a lot longer. If you want a new T25 let me know and I can flex some connections and get you one pretty cheap.

Roddimus Prime February-15th-2006 06:18 PM

^^^ about $250+shipping for a new T25 with .48/.49 trim

macdaddyslomo February-15th-2006 07:38 PM

WHERE ??? I was looking at some from SSautochrome that were $300 but they were TD04's with a T25 flange and greddy internals....I wasnt sure if the DP would work ???

I wanna buy it pretty soon...I just bought my wife that car, so I got the "no bitch" clause no matter what I buy for a few months

Very interested Matty...get me the info ASAP!!!! Are they internally wastegated...I would prefer if they are...also if so what's the wastegate set at...

Roddimus Prime February-15th-2006 07:43 PM

yes they are internal wastegates. They are coming from japan so shipping is estimated at $70. I'll pm you the info.

macdaddyslomo February-15th-2006 07:45 PM

ack ! Japan ??....what's the turnaround time ???

Roddimus Prime February-15th-2006 07:53 PM

you'd get it within a week or two. I ordered the turbo for the scooter from them and it took about 6 business days.

macdaddyslomo February-15th-2006 11:12 PM

Yay ! Found out 88-92 MX6GT injectors are drop in plug and play...310cc injectors...should be plenty enough fuel over my puny 155cc stockers

Found a set on MX6.com for $15

Also found a good SMIC from an MX6GT for $30

I also ordered an Exedy stage 2 clutch for $149 shipped

I'm gonna end up having his car turbo'd for like $1200 :101384_l:

Roddimus Prime February-16th-2006 03:28 AM

good deal, be sure to post pics of everything.

macdaddyslomo February-16th-2006 04:28 PM

found a LOW mileage T25 from a 98GSX eclipse...$200....on it's way too

macdaddyslomo February-16th-2006 07:31 PM

spending spree !!!

intercooler is otw too....

I just need:

FMU,turbo oil feed and drain, turbo coolant lines, bypass valve, and intercooler piping...

macdaddyslomo February-17th-2006 09:11 PM

IM INSANE !!!

I just ordered my T25 oil feed/drain kit, and T25 waterline kit.....

I'm down to my BPV and intercooler piping....

seeing as how I'm using so many MX6 parts, I might go to the junkyard to see about getting the MX6 BPV and intercooler piping to work...engine sits in the bay the same way, as does the turbo, so if I mount the intercooler in the right spot, it might just work !!!!

Total spent(including shipping)

manifold $375
downpipe $150
Garrett T25 $225
intercooler $40
injectors $15
Exedy Stage 2 Clutch Kit $149
turbo oil line kit $85
turbo water line kit $40

Total = $1079

Roddimus Prime February-17th-2006 10:56 PM

sounds good. the piping may only need minor adjustment to fit well. now where are those pics??

macdaddyslomo February-17th-2006 11:17 PM

i don't have sh** yet....everything has been ordered in like the last 3-4 days

Roddimus Prime February-18th-2006 12:11 AM

oh ok...get a picture or three of the pile of parts...and then a picture of everything installed...then say "before and after"

redrims February-20th-2006 02:03 AM

first part in...pretty important one too

Roddimus Prime February-21st-2006 01:46 PM

not too bad...any more angles??

It looks like it has an EGT sensor right on the exhaust? or is that an o2?? seems awefully close to the turbine to be an o2.

Are you going to have it rebuilt? Might be worth it...you dont want a fin breaking off and being shot into your engine.

macdaddyslomo February-21st-2006 02:55 PM

I can get more angles....honestly I probably wont have it rebuilt....it was VERY low mileage(like 6000 miles), and there is ZERO shaft play on it.....yes that's an 02 sensor, I wont be using that part though, the hiboost downpipe will replace it....

the only thing that pissed me off is 2 of the studs on the exhaust housing are broken off so I'll have to "EZ OUT" them and get new ones....

Roddimus Prime February-21st-2006 02:56 PM

yikes...i hate broken studs on stuff like that...the heat practically wleds them in there.

other angles..DSM downpipe removed

mailman just knocked again...no damn alignment tool though !!!

Roddimus Prime February-21st-2006 04:50 PM

man, I hope that clutch holds....it looks kinda "budget". The PP kinda looks used also. I'm gonna hate it if you put everything together and get up on it one time and break it.

macdaddyslomo February-21st-2006 06:53 PM

clutch is an Exedy stage 2...supposed to hold up to 90% over stock, so that should be good for 200lb-ft of torque....pressure plate is def brand new

Roddimus Prime February-21st-2006 07:22 PM

oh ok..maybe it's just the picture.

First I've heard of it, I checked the info thread on the other forum. The event coincides with the first day of my summer vacation, so I'd say it's highly likely I will go.

macdaddyslomo February-21st-2006 08:44 PM

I'm will definitely have my install complete and running by then...

scotty878 February-21st-2006 08:50 PM

Looks good, seems like this project is coming together excellently! Good luck with everything!

Mike, someone is spending all of their money on turbo parts and ignoring their pedicures!

macdaddyslomo February-24th-2006 09:04 PM

WATER LINES RECVD TODAY...WRONG DAMN NPT CONNECTIONS.....aRGGH !

Roddimus Prime February-25th-2006 03:12 PM

haha, welcome to the headaches of piecing together your own FI system!! when you get t worked out though it'll be better!

macdaddyslomo March-1st-2006 01:27 PM

Car is in the shop today having new clutch installed $350...*ouch*...ordered my 12:1 FMU, it's on it's way....waiting on injectors, fmu, oil lines, manifold and downpipe...Juan told me they should be shipped today....

redrims March-1st-2006 08:43 PM

saweet...!!

macdaddyslomo March-2nd-2006 12:07 PM

Matty was right about the clutch....Shop said not only is it just basically OEM replacement, it's the WRONG clutch !!! AND they gave me 2 Throwout bearings, no Pilot bearing....NEVER deal with EZ Clutch on Ebay !!!

The shop found me one for $225 locally, since the car was up on the rack I can't wait and order another....I have to find out who the manufacturer is but they GUARANTEED me it would have WAY more holding power than the stocker

macdaddyslomo March-2nd-2006 03:33 PM

should a new clutch have lighter pedal ???? I always thought a Pressure plate with more grip should require more effort to press the pedal....
