air intake

now before everyone yells at me for not searching much u am at work now and can't stay on here too long, i read a little bit about the air intakes that you can install and how they can add like 10 hp, i'm just wondering if it's true?

Only if you got the most efficent best bent most high quality filter combo intake system.. That doesn't exsist.

why must people/retailers say that intakes add 10hp?

because it's an easy number to add... for example:

91' escort GT: 127hp + 10hp = 137hp
91' escort GT: 127hp + 7hp = 134hp <-- much harder to add!

ummm.. so that's why. (:

The more HP it makes the better it will sell. As a general rule, you will make half of what it says it will make (unless its NOS or some sort of FI).
