Weak shock sensor

Hey Darryl (and others),
I finally finished my Crime Guard installation. I figure I spent about 35 total hours on it. It's hard to believe that alarm installations can be bought for $300-400. But I'm happy with the performance and programming options. Thanks for the guidance in door-lock and driver's door priority. THere's one problem though: the shock sensor isn't sensative enough.

I have the thresholds maxed out on both zones. When I pound the body next to the windshied, it'll go off, because that area is pretty coupled to the dash-frame, where I mounted the sensor. When I kick the front tire, it'll trigger sometimes. But when I kick the hell out of the front bumper, it won't go off. Directions say that mounting the sensor to a wiring-harness will give "unpredictable results", but would it at least be a little more sensitive? If not, I'm considering asking for another sensor from Crutchfield. What do you think?

Thanks,
Don Cab

i've always had good luck zip tieing the sensor to the steering collum. Next would be an air vent, then the wire loom.
