thumpin questions
I just installed an 8" bazooka powered sub in my ES. I got it cheap! The sound is what I expected. Not a barn buster, but decent musical bass at a moderate volume. The problem is, every time I turn the car on, change songs on my CD player, change radio stations etc...it thumps.
The manual says that you can use it w/out a remote turn on and whenever the inputs 'see' music it will turn on automatically. Do you think that's the problem? Meaning the sub turns on and off every time I change stations, or change songs because the input is interrupted?
Do you think using the remote turn on wire would rectify the thumping situation?
Also, my deck has a separate line level sub output through RCA jacks. I have it hooked up through those. That's the best option right? Well, the manual recommends you hook it up with high level inputs, like tapping into the rear speakers. Anyone ever hear anything like that before? I always thought that was a last resort, or 'budget' way of hooking an amp up?.

Ya there is something weird in the Bazooka tubes electronics. I spent over an hour one day trying to find the problem. Basicly we did the easy stuff first ran new rcas. still had the issue, then we ran it off our test bench and the problem went away. After pondering it for awile I realized theat there was indeed a ground loop and I connected teh ground of my test mench to the cars battery an the tunps all ame back.
Ground loops are definitly the problem. I never thought the isolaters would kill it all toghether. Thanks for the tip.
