Your using the cage. soyou put the cage in the hole in the dash, bend the tabs so the radio cage can't be pulled out, then instert the radio into the cage until it locks into place.

BL - you need to put the mounting sleeve (cage) into the dash opening. Then bend back the tabs that will hold it in place tightly.

The "string" you refer to is not a string - it's supposed to represent a solid surface behind the dash that you can mount the backstrapping to. The backstrap supports the rear of the deck - kinda "suspends" it from the strap. If necessary, you can use the vertical support that is already there. But if you use a pocket under the deck that fits well, it'll support the deck and you won't need to bother with the backstrap. Using a dash kit (made for the Pro) usually eliminates the need for the backstrap also. If you get everything in place and it doesn't bounce around, you're fine.

Use only the top diagram - the rest of that stuff is not for use in our cars.

Please do not take this the wrong way, but you may want to check into having a shop install your radio for you if you are having this many questions already. Like I said just a suggestion
