Canadian trim levels are confusing

Okay, here in the US, we have DX, LX, and ES models. I keep hearing about SEs, ESs, GTs, EXs...wtf?

Here's all I know about US trim levels:

1999-2000 US-spec Pro's:
DX - 1.6
LX - 1.6
ES - 1.8

2001:
DX - 1.6
LX - 1.6
LX 2.0 - 2.0
ES 2.0 - 2.0

2002+:
DX - 2.0
LX - 2.0
ES - 2.0

So, will someone explain what each trim level is and what engine is offered with it? I'm totally confused...

Can't speak for the other years, but for 2002 sedan in Canada, we have the SE, LX, and ES.

The SE is base, and has the 1.6lDOHC. The LX and ES have the 2.0lDOHC. Automatic and A/C are optional. I believe for 2003, all Proteges will be 2.0lDOHC.

On the LX, you can add a Convenience Package (A/C PW, PM, Cruise) for $1750, and a Sun Sport Package (rear spoiler, p/moonroof, ABS) for $1450.

On the ES (top model) you can add the GT package which adds 16"alloys,rear discs, p/moonroof, rear spoiler, and A/C for $2695.

On the P5, the only options are p/moonroof ($800), automatic trans ($1000), and A/C ($1000).

Hope this helps.
