Stongard? Xpel? Invinca-Shield?
Stongard? Xpel? Invinca-Shield?
With any luck my Mazdaspeed Protege will be here soon. I really want to keep it looking new for as long as possible, so I'd like to get the 3M vinyl paint protection that is available under a number of names. From what I've read, it sounds like the installation of this material is more important than the material itself (which all seems to be pretty much the same.) I'll put links to the various products below. On to my reason for posting...
Does anybody know of an installer for any of these products in or near Delaware? I wouldn't mind travelling to Maryland, Pennsylvania or New Jersey if somebody knows of a good installer there. Thanks.
Invinca-Shield
X-Pel
Stongard

Well, of those three, X-Pel has a search function on the website to find an installation center near you. Might not be a bad idea.
Invinca-Shield has a downloadable instruction guide for DIYers - seems logical if you feel like tackling this yourself.
I have read up on this stuff a little bit, and the install is nearly identical to window tint installation - only the material is thicker. My guess is that if you find a shop that does it, they'll also do tint - so maybe checking some reputable tint shops in your area would be another method of finding one that installs this stuff, too.
Best case scenario is probably if X-Pel points you to a place that does good work.
