Exclamation Removing P5 badges?

I've always liked the "clean" look of cars with minimal or no badges. Has anyone out there removed the badges on their car? Seen one? Have pictures even? I've got a black P5 (only 300km on the odometer!) and I'm seriously considering removing the "Mazda" and "Protege5" emblems from the back of the car. Perhaps even the Mazda badge from the middle of the tailgate. Eventually, a new aluminum grill (top and bottom) with no Mazda badge would be nice too. (I think I'll paint the current grills silver, I've seen some photos and it looks good). Does anyone have any experience with this? How are the badges attached? Are they just stuck on? Or is there some kind of screw/plug system?
Thanks....

Exclamation

I belive they are attached by double sided tape, but i know for a fact that if you remove them that their will be small holes from which the pegs from the badges are applied to the hatch-back. Its probably a bad idea unless you plan on covering or fillin the holes with something cause that would just look ghetto riding around with those holes visable. I was thinking of doing the same thing but thats just to much to deal with just to remove a few badges. And i personaly think it would be a waste of money to have the holes filled and painted. Thats just my opinion since i was considering the same modification at one time. Peace..

PS: If you are going to remove them though , just use some detal floss or fishing string to slide behind them and work it up and down like a see-saw to cut though majority of the glue.

yeah, theres two pegs on the Protege5 badge, so of course, theres going to be two large holes on your trunk I put 2 Protege5 badges on my doors, one on each side. I had to cut off the pegs on each one, and stuck them on with the sticky **** thats on them. I like the way it looks, i dont think im the only one with them on, am I? no one else where I live have them on, yet! All my friends want them on there car too, Those ******* cost ,me $37 each at the dealer!

Thumbs up Removing P5 badges?

Hey there, I removed my stock mazda logo, mazda text, and protege 5 text badges about a month ago. I covered the mazda text badge holes with an MP5 badge that looks great. The other 4 holes took a little work. I went to a hardware store and found black ( to match paint ) screw caps. I glued these caps to a few drywall anchors and stuck them in the holes. It looks great, and keeps water out. I also used my protege 5 emblem and mounted it on my passenger side dash, it looks awesome. I also have an atGrills Kit on the front of my car which also looks great. I will be posting pics soon!!!

If anyone wants to sell their emblems, I'd gladly take them off your hands. PM me if interested.

Cool What about.....

I like the look of clean lines on cars. Clutter is for my desk at work, not my car. I was debating whether to take the emblems off of my P5. When I was detailing my car a couple of weeks ago, I decided to pull one off. THEY WERE PINHOLED THROUGH!! I'm a bit weird when it comes to my cars. I like perfection, and didn't want to get anything bondo'd or welded. So I opted for painting my emblems. I took them to my friends body shop, and he matched the paint and painted them for me. I like it! If you are interested in seeing pictures, let me know.

What color is the car? I assume the emblems are color matched.

I'd like to see pictures, as I am thinking of doing this with my silver P5.
