Question Protege 5 Trim Q

I haven't tried yet, but how do you remove the Silver trim around the HU. Do you have to remove the heater control ***** or what else is involved???

no you don't but there are 2 wires that are attached to the heater controls that you have to disconnect, the trim is just held in by clips that you just pop out, i had to replace my trim since it was all scratched up from when the time my car was broken into

Watch out for two other cables....

Heater/AC Control and Air Outlet Control. These cables are attached via clips. Follow the cables. It has a black housing. If you pull the trim pieces far enough the cable will get dis-lodged from the clip. Slide the cables off the clips before yanking on the trim pieces. After doing cable work to install my amp....

(1) I had no AC. Just heat. The controls did not line up.
(2) It was not blowing air where it was suppose too. Again the controls did not line up.

It tooke an hour and a half to figure it out. Also, Pry the trim from the top first, then down. Use your fingers so you won't mess up the plastic around it. It pops right off.

Have fun,
Jason
