Has anyone bought / used the rubber trunk liner for P5, the one with raised sides? I carry a lot of stuff in the rear ( stepping stones / slabs, lawnmower etc.

Got sick of vacuuming the trunk each time...

Is it worth $75CDN they want for it?

 

I have one - the original Mazda one - and love it.

Unless youa re looking at something different that mine, it is not rubber - I think it is a vinyl product.

Either way - I carry tools and crap (lots of dusty stuff) in my hatch every day, and when I remove the liner (cargo tray is what they call it) the carpet still looks like brand new. And the tray collects all the crap, and cleans up really well. It's a surprisingly durable piece.

Definitely worth the purchase price.

Thanks! The durability aspect is what I was concerned with... There is no Weathertech for this car, so OEM is the only way to go here.

 

Durability is actually amazing.

This is what dragging a 60-70 lb rolling toolbox in and out of my car 2-10 times a day does to the tray:


And when I take it out and clean it up, it looks almost like new.

I doubted the durability when I first got it because it is very pliable and soft - but it has held up incredibly well (had it about a year and a half already).

An excellent purchase if you need to haul stuff around.

hihoslva, you carry all that stuff next to your subs and amps?

That would make me paranoid as hell.

 

Well, that's what the solid aluminum "grille" bars are for on the subs.

I just carry dirty toolboxes - nothing that could really damage my system.

In the wintertime when I go snowboarding that rubber liner comes in really handy. I throw my wet and sometimes muddy snowboard boots back there and do not have to worry about messing up the carpet. Well worth it IMO!

 

i wouldn't drive with out one (liner that is).
its a great accessory and works great. weighs nothing too.

 

We've had one almost from the day we bought our car and love it. It is the Madza one and not that POS available on ebay. I think the difference, apart form the logo, are the raised ribs. I've had stell pieces as well as tons of other stuff in there and a simple scrub brings it back as good as new.
