My 99 Protege is silver and I thought that clear corners would give the front end a really clean look. I was wondering if they are 50 state legal? I live in Maryland, so if anyone can give me info, it would be well appreiciated. I'd like to avoid any confrontations with the police over the parts on my car if possible.

 

They are 50 state legal as long as you still have an amber bulb.

 

Actually, if you wanna get technical, that's not true. The law in most states (not sure if all) require you to have an amber reflector visible from the side. On the 99-00 sedans it's the turn signal casing and on p5's it's the reflector on the side. However, if you have an amber bulb, 98% of cops won't hassle you. And that other 2% would only hassle you if you got caught street racing or pissed him off some other way. And even if they did hassle you, most cops would just tell you to fix it and not actually ticket you. Probably a lot of cops don't even know the side reflector law anyway.

So just get amber bulbs with your clear corners.

 

Had mined is for almost 2 years. No problem yet and I doubt that I'll get any problems. Police don't seem to care at all.

I got blue bulbs with mine get rid or the ugly amber look period. And also get the cleaner looking procarparts ones like proto2k has.
