Hey, i was thinking of either getting this Kenwood deckKDC-MPV619 or this JVC Deck KD-SX980.

And maybe both with a CD changer as well.

Thanks for your help.

Get JVC but step it up to the 909 model. It will cost a little more but if you have the silver in the center of your dash it will match perfectly. It will also give you the ability to play mp3's.

I would personally go with the Kenwood between those two, I've owned many JVC items including HU's and they do not last long at all.
I have had three JVC HU in the past and they all broke on me. BUT, this year they have really stepped up the quality of their product. One of my friends owns his own stereo shop and JVC is one of the lines that he carries. He has installed a lot of the new JVC's and has had no complaints about the HU crapping out. Hell, he even has one in his car. Believe me, I was sceptical at first but they realy have changed alot for the better.

That is good to hear, however I think I'm still staying away from JVC. The biggest reason is because I really do take extremely good care of things, so for something to break around me it has to be among the worst in cheapness. I will however admit, in terms of sound quality it wasn't half bad. I've heard better, but I've also heard a whole lot worse. Personally... I like the older Sony ES line of HU's (not this Xplod crap).

well the jvc is good, i see no problem with there quality, i have a few friends with that head unit.... and its worked out great for them.... also concerning quality, i have a 3 year old high end stereo amp here and it works great, even after 12 hours a day, 365 days a year, for 3 years worth of use.

just a note... STAY AWAY FROM SONY! Friends dont let friends buy sony!

hmm, thanks for all the help guys.

I think i'll go with the JVC KD SH-99 or 909, i think bothof them have MP3 playabiaty.

But first i need to get the windows Tinted, that is on the top of my list before i do any interior add ons and sucks.
