kenwood 919 mp3 deck

anybody know anythng about this deck?
I had a kenwood about 12 years ago (back when pullout units were the rage, you know the f*ckin unit pulled out of a sleeve) and liked it.

This deck seems to have everything I want but I'd like to hear what other people hav to say about Kenwood quality

I want to mate it with Infinity Kappa 50.5cs component system and then a basslink in the back

Also anybody knw anything about the HUD attachment? Is this a stupid gimmick for gadget freaks like me or is it a worthwile addition

Any feedback is appreciated in advance

Thanks

I've driven cars w/ a HUD and i really like it. I'm not sure about kenwood's cause these came stock on the cars, but you'd just be driving along and a red transparent number would be on the bottom of the windshield in your line of sight so you dont have to look down.

Very good way to stay concious of your speed if you ask me, plus it adds trememdously to the cool factor It all depends on how much they go for tho, if its resonable i'd do it, but if its more than a few bills, not for me.

I'm a big fan on Kenwood decks, I have owned 2 eXcelon decks in my life, and now own the Z828, it kicks my ***. Never had any problems with either. What model are you looking to get and how much are you willing to spend? I have only owned the higher end eXcelon's, now sure about the cheaper stuff.

I am looking at the KDC 919 (I think it is the same as in the mp3 but not sure, I'm too lazy to research that) Its listed on Ebay for about $330 and there are several. The HUD costs about 200.00 extra. I probably will not install it myself so I'll have to find a shop that will install it if I bring it in myself.

Thanks for the advice

I have the 919 in my mp3 and love it. Shortly after I bought the car i had to upgrade the speakers ( not enough bass). I put 6.5 components up front and one 10 in the trunk. I also added an amp for the 10 and had no problems with the HU. So if you are wondering about the quality since it is a stock radio, don't. It's the same 919 that you would buy at a sterio store.

I've had a 919 since they first came on the market... installed first in my other car then moved to my P5... I love it and it has been flawless to date.
