i think that a power impluse mighta hit the deck and it mighta fried the circuitry and that is causin the deck to behave so wierd. let me know ur input.. thanks,

Sounds to me like a short somewhere along the line, try pulling it out and playing with the wires with it plugged in carefully of course. It could be something as simple as the wire harness not being plugged in all the way. Seeing as how it turns off completely, I'm guessing it's power related. If that's true, have the dealer take a look at the power going up to it. Does anything else do this? AC etc.? More cases than not, electronics can take a bit of a shock so although it's possible the HU itself is damaged, there's a pretty good chance it's not a problem with the HU at all. Best of luck .

well i ahve checked all my wiring again and again. everything is plugged in all the way and all the connection on the harness are solid. nothing else does this when i turn quickly or accelarate fast. only the HU is giving me problems. and thats why i believe it is the HU that is causing all my problems.
thanks

Most likely during the collision your broke some solder joints on the board loose. Sony is famous for this. If your remove the back plate where the wires connect to the unit, and resolder the wires on the back side of the wiring plug, it should fix this. I repair many of these decks a week. Mostly the solder joints on the speaker line outs. Hope this helps.
