where is the horn, anyway?

Wouldn't it be simpler to just find the OEM horn and
disconnect it, then use the wires for the new one?

I kinda tried looking under the hood for my horn today,
and I couldn't locate it. Can anybody point me to the
location of the horn on a P5?

The stock horn on the P5 is in front of the radiator, behind the bumper. You have to take off the top grille to get at it - you can see it a little bit behind the lower grille - I'll post some pics if I get the chance.

Hooking up to the stock horn wiring might not work with a "Pep Boyz" air horn - they've got there own wiring scheme, and the Pro (as most or all Mazdas) uses a one-wire hook up for the horn.

I plan on purchasing an air horn kit from Moss Motors soon. It's made for the Miata, and I had one on my '93. It's made for the one-wire hook up, just like the P5 has. I might have to dicker with the mounting brackets, but that shouldn't be too hard.

Awesome horns - really loud and somewhat high pitched. I can't wait to be scaring ****'s outta my way again - driving in Manhattan, I've shocked jaywalkers out of their freakin' shoes.
