Re: Use your gain control

You mentioned that your Tsunami has a wired gain control, but you were not going to install, well, maybe you can go ahead and install it. Some of my CDs like Dire Straits doesn't have enough bass in it, so I have to turn the gains up while others I have to adjust down so that it isn't too bass heavy. That is a nice feature to have. I would recommend using it.

yeah, I decided to install it after all. I'm gonna run the cables through the car later today. I'll get the battery terminals tomorrow, so I should be able to test the system this weekend. I will get the carpet on monday, so I'll probably finalize the box next week. There's nothing wrong with using the box like that, right? Maybe my sound won't be as good, but the difference will be minor...

That's basically it. I have to find a 4 gauge ring terminal for the amp's ground. Other than that, I have all I need.

I also plan on building a custom amp/volt meter. I'm gonna fit all that in the empty space right below my AC controls. There's an empty slot and I have no idea what it's for, but I'm gonna fill it up with my electronics.

no problem, but my box is too big for this design I will barely be able to fit it in if I do my trunk like that, and I won't have any space left... for anything else...

On the contrary, that is the exact specs of a ported enclosure on Elemental Design's website. It is designed specifically for that sub to get the most out of it. So that is why he used that particular design.

Yeah, the port is 50something inches when you go around the chambers.

Hey MisterT, I think I'm gonna build a rack like yours. This amp is a lot more powerfull than I needed it to be, so even if the rack reduces the volume somehow, it's not gonna be that big of a deal, plus it's gonna look hella clean - like yours.
