Gen 2 door *** removal...

I have been re-doing my interior, and I got to my doors today. The door looks nice, but the only problem I have is I dont know how to remove the door *** so I can paint it. I was going to try to pull it off, but I didnt know if I would break it. Does anybody know how to get it off?

I think you have to take out some screws first. I am planning on doing the same thing in future, and I was hoping to see if any knew anything, but that is my guess. Just take a careful look around. Maybe you might have to take the door panel off from the inside, or there might be another way. I am going to go to junk yard and find 2nd gen Pro, and mess with it. I want to paint all of my exterior trim into the car color, the mirrors, door handles, and the moldings. If any one has any suggestions, shoot! Thanks.

Well, i took the door panel off anyway to paint it. And the way the door *** is made, it looks as if you only have to pull it off, but when you tug on it nothing happens. Oh well, I will figure it out.
