Fabric on the door

I bought some "leather" (fake stuff) and ripped out my old worn and dirty fabric on the arm rest. Cut the new stuff and glued with 3M glue in a spray can. If link gives you a hot link error click the last link (on the bottom). It's not a professional job and it does have a few bloopers and roughness but hell for $4 and some time think it looks good. Oh and this was the first of 4 I can redo this one if I don't like it cause I have a yrd. x 45" of material.

are you referring to vinyl?
i have a friend that does that stuff for a living
He sews better than a damn woman!
If you look in the off topic area and click on the 69 valiant
link youll see the interior he did on that car. Crushed velvet.
he decked his interior out in his accord with all vinyl.
People always think that stuff is real leather.

uhh..you sure you want to leave it like that ... I am not the best interior guy ,, but I am not that spiffy about it ... Know if you could pull out that peace and then wrap it around the edge and smooth everything out , so it looked factory then that would be different..

Wont work like that on 2gen pros. Unlike Civics, Neons, etc, which have a seperat, detachable insert, our door inserts do not come out. The fabric is glued over the vynal and the whole thing is streched as one piece over the door frame.(trust me, look at MY interior).
Otherwise, thats what I wouldve done...

As KDAWG said It's glued on and I would stretch it more but I don't know how to if there is a way to. I do agree that I should redo that door cause it doesn't look close to 70% good. I'll try redoing that tomorrow. Anyone have any suggestions or hints?

The only things onthe door that can be removed:
handle & p/w piece
latch (for opening)
P/L button

the cloth can be ripped off cuase it's glued on. I tried using it as a template but the cloth seems to be molded to the shape of the door.

hey when you are going around the corner ...try putting in little cuts in so that the fabric will still lay down. I don't know if it would work..but most of the time when going around corners it helps them to lay flat. Yes I know that the OEM fabric didn't have those... I took mine off and I have yet to get fabric...but I was going to do that to mine!!! Hope that works...

Where are you suggesting to make the cuts? on the curve? If I make the cuts they will be visible to anyone. If it were an inside curve I could do some slats and overlay.
