ES instrument lights dimmer than P5

I just picked up an '03 ES (sweet, in the new blue mica). I noticed that the red instrument lights do not turn up as bright as my wife's '02 P5. I am cranking up the dimmer **** as bright as it will go.

I am wondering why it does not turn up as bright...is there a way to set the max brightness in the dimmer switch?

Thanks,

rick

I noticed the same phenomeon with my 03 P5 (compared to a loaner 02 ES sedan I was driving for 4 days.) It's not as bright..... but I find the 03 brightness to my liking. IMHO the 02 was too bright, and didn't adjust to a level my eyes wanted to see.

For what it's worth,
Jim

Thanks for the info...I called the dealer and they did not have an answer. They suggested I have them look at it on my next service.

I like the 2002 bright red better, it is pretty bright but I like it...

What colour are the 2003's? I think its because the gauge is silvery colour instead of off-white. I dunno for sure.

color

The color of the face is the same as the 02, it is a off white (both have a sorta silvery sheen to them). I compared it to our 02 P5, they are indistinguishable in the daytime. Just the backlighting is different.
