On the new protege's, you see the center console and driver controls on the door with an aluminum/titanium look... However, today, I saw the usual but the difference was it also had a thin piece of glass/plastic on top of this aluminum/titanium finish.

Does anyone here know what I'm talking about and how much is it?

Probably just coated with clear vinyl, or even just clearcoated period. I need more of a description to what it looked like...

 

It looks like a thick glass coating on top of the aluminum finish on the center dash console and the door controls. It also has this same glass coating on the door where you would rest your elbow... It looked quite good. Would love to know how much it is and where to get it

Sounds like that industrial clear vinyl coating to me... Seen it done a few times, wit mixed results.

 

Is it possible that it's just a thick dash kit?

 

Could be, but why buy a dash kit the same color as stock? It really sounds like that vinyl to me. I've only seen it a few times like I said before, and it can look really sharp if it's done right.

I wish I had some pics to go by, then I could tell for sure... Can anyone say "spy photos?"
