3 different glass manufaturers?

something i noticed after washing my car.. there are three different stamps of manufacturers for all the auto glass on my car.. 2002 ES GT... is this normal? or was some of the glass replaced

front and rear windshield.. carlax
front windows.. both the same manufacturer cant remember off hand..
rear windows nippon denzo..

why would mazda get 3 different manufacturers to make their auto glass...?

yup.. bought my 2002 sedan in oct 2002.. it had 16 kms when i test drove it and 19kms when i took it home.. i have about 5000kms on it now.. but im thinking if its not common that there would be different manufactures for the auto glass then im going to investigate further on whether or not the odometer was tampered with. or reset electronically.. which im sure could be done... and whether or not my vehicle was used by an employee at the dealership or was a demo car... i purchased the vehicle under the assumtion of it being a new car...

I think that tampering with the odo is probably really hard. I think they're designed so that if you try to open them, they mess everything up.

I'm guessing that Mazda is just trying to find some way to save money by having all these different kinds. Then again I ought to wait and see if other people have the same brands

edit: Oh yeah check and see if the glass has a manufacture date. Sometimes they do. If the dates are WAY off, you might be wary, but there'll be some variation as some will sit in a warehouse somewhere but some will be used right away...I think

sekurit is the name of the front windows. the glass on my P5 is made by the same 3 manufactors as yours. I bought my car with 3miles on it the day it came off the truck b/c i watched them onload it. So it must be a cost cutting thing. All i can say is my windshield glass sucks. I've got about 6 rock chips in it.

I guess they made a poor choice on the windshield manufacturer, as it seems to be quite a common problem

thats is.. sekurit.. ... yeah i had gone to my tint guy and he said it was odd for it to be different manufacturers.... so that made start thinking on whether my glass was replaced.. but i guess its normal... maybe i was just being a little paranoid.. thats all...

It's normal, all of them from '99 to '02 are exactly like you described. I believe for '03, they switched windshield suppliers, probably because the Carlex windshields seem to suck (so many people have complained about them here). Mine cracked after I had the car only 3 days!
