Changing Headlight bulbs

I have a 2002 Protoge LX and recieved those Xenon HID looking bulbs (no comments please) as a gift. So I tried to install them this afternoon and found that the clear cover on the headlights is freaking glued to the backing, in addition to the clips, and has screws underneath (could feel them). My question is, how would I go about removing the clear cover without smashing the damn thing to pieces? I was also intending to remove the amber peice on the side. Thanks.

You do not need to remove the clear covers to change the bulbs.

All you need to do is remove the black rubber piece in the back, the wires and the spring clip.
