Headlight Bulbs
Looking for a nice blue/purple headlight possibly would consiter white if its really bright.
I know silverstars are the standard but Im looking for something abit more obnoxious so people dont cut me off if there an inch away. I already have really bright foglights but they dont work on suv's. I know that when a car with bluish lights is behind me I get out of the way, or atleast notice. Keep in mind jersey has the worst drivers in the world.
I dont want to be too obnoxios but just noticable. Im eyeballing the Phillips blue vision, there not tinted or anything wonder how they'll look. There is also the GE night hawks there really cheap and supposedly much better then silver stars although a bit yellow. Opinions/hateing on me for the rice.

Phillips BlueVision seem to be the best around, nice!
Upon more searching Ive found that ideal lighting Temp is 4k -5k*k for the human eye. Its not just about amount of light output you want a nice blue light that doesnt dilate the pupil very much. So dont mind what all the people that say about blue light being bad. Even if it did output lower its more efficent.
Ive also found that over watting from our 55w to 80watt bulbs picks up some 400 lumins. Thats deffinetly what I'll be doing. Should be safe on our cars, at least for the housings the harness might need more attention. Only one way to find out.

Wrong.. Lumens on these bulbs are rated at 1000/1350 L/H
For there ABOVE AVERAGE pricing they are simply not high out put bulbs.
pricing is WAY up there. like 15-20 bucks a bulb.. and most that i have used (DAYTIME RUNNING/ NIGHT DRIVING) has only lasted me about 6 Months. so.. yeah im bitter. But im looking for solution :-p

they have to actual part numbers there is a bumped up version that runs 80 watts available that has a slightly higher output. oddly in my research i have come to find out that these lights are simply rebadged BLAH BLAH BLAH of the above to aftermarket crazes. of course 16 bucks a bulb.

www.streetunit.com sells Luminics bulbs, really popular. cullen sells legal wattage for the H3 & H4 bulbs i believe. the ultra whites are noticably bluer than stock though may not offer any more lumens as far as brightness goes.
www.powerbulbs.com sells philips & osram (sylvania). they are in the UK, but they sell legal wattage bulbs too. FAST & free shipping. the european versions of the silverstars aren't tinted blue like the US version, so you get slightly more light output, but you lose the "whiter" color of the US version. me, i'd prefer the whiter color -- if i can see better with these bulbs, why not add a subtle upgrade in the looks while you're at it?
remember, the blue spectrum of light dissepates in our atmosphere the easiest, and because of its long wavelength, extreme shades of blue/purple are less visible to the human eye.

well the red spectrum of the wavelength requires less effort for our eyes to adjust to. it has to do with the way the rods & cones in your eyeballs work. its why you see a lot of red LED alarm clocks. ^_^ i was planning on getting some silverstars, but i may try the philips blue vision now.

Phillips also makes a crystal vision that is there best headlight. If you were willing to go with silverstars these were designed to blow them out of the water. To rich for my blood though.
