Audio Question

Hi, I'm new and this is my first post.

My girlfriend just bought a new mazda 3 about 2 months ago and we bolth love the car. As soon as i save more money for a good down pament I'll buy one as well. It will have to be the 2.3 with 5 speed though. I hate driving an automatic.

My question is how would I hook an amp up to the factory audio unit ?

You'll need to either use a Line Output Converter (LOC) to convert the speaker output leads to RCA connections, or use an amp that has speaker level inputs.

cant on the 3's....they have a molded in stereo like the mazda 6. The only difference in HU's anyway is the ability to play mp3's and their power....with the amp you don't have to worry about power.

I'm still working on how to wire up a portable DVD Player to the nav system in the 3..

any audio inputs to tap into?

I just bought a 3 with the 6 cd changer, but I have a lot of mix cds in mp3 format that I play on a portable cd player. I use to use a cassette adapter in my old car, but can't now. Are there any audio inputs in the stereo that I can run a wire to from the portable? I notice that there are audio controls for things I don't have, so I would assume that there are extra inputs in the back.

Thanks
