CD Audio Question

I am re-doing some of the sound in my car.

I am planning on getting...

Rockford Fosgate Punch P3001 - amplifier
Rockford Fosgate PL1-110 - subwoofer
Monster RCA cables... - cables

I would like some ideas for an in-dash cd reciever/deck. One that would be prime
for use with my subwoofer.

Also if anyone knows where I can find a tutorial on removing the factory cd player from the car, that would be great.

I own a 2002 Mazda Protege ES 2.0L Automatic.

Thanks!

Man I went through three systems so far in this car. Look at my sig and then go check out the Panisonic decks. The one I have is not the mp3 player but I didn't get it because Panisonic is coming out with an all in one XM/mp3 head unit like alpine but less money. Plus these decks have the 3 rca jacks that you will need for the sub amp. It also has the sub control seperate from the bass. If you buy a deck that doesn't have a seperate sub jack the sub will run off the rear chanel and you stand to blow your rear speakers. My deck was under 200 and I think the mp3 player was just over 200.

I'm going to go with the Panasonic MXE CQ-C5210U.

I won't have any trouble hooking my subs/amp/cables to it will I?

Seems like a nice model.

Edit: Thanks for all your help guys. That was 1 million times faster than I expected.

Famous.

I don't know the differance but that is just like the one I have. I don't think you'll have any problems with it. I have 2 amps 1 for the 4 speakers and 1 for the 2 12 in subs. The only thing I would suggest is spend the extra cash and get the MP3 player. It sucks have to change cds out. But other than that I like my alot.
Good luck

I used to have a Kenwood deck but I was never satisfied with its sound. Replaced it with a Pioneer DEH-P7600, spent about an hour fiddling with sound settings but I have a sound I really like. Especially considering my speakers are stock... :O

Besides bass and treble it has a 3 band parametric EQ, can cut off high frequencies to the deck speakers, turning them into pseudo subwoofers with selectable crossover filter and a host of other audio goodies.

Yep. My Pioneer has all those bells and whistles. In fact, it's so damn complex that I can barely play a cd on it!!!

Get a pionner, they look cool, have great sound quality and tuning abilities and even the low end models can rival many more expensive radio from alpine, clarion, eclipse and cost alot less. But personally I have a pioneer deh-p8600mp, but i've had kenwood, alpine, eclipse and sony and will never go back to any of the radios.

Blaupunkt is the way to go. I almost got one of the pioneer head units but was dissapointed with there build quiality.

Mine is the monte carlo, 4 rca preouts. PLenty of bells and wistles eq, mp3 and the works. The price is right too. The only thing I would not mind having is a setting for the sub alone. Its not a problem becuase Amps come with crossovers and gain settings.
