Audio install books?
Anyone know of any audio install books. I am really into car audio now and would love to expand my knowledge on it. Since I am only 19 I am looking into some jobs, and who knows, maybe this could be one. Also, if you know of any can you tell me where to find them. Thanks.

If you want I can get you the number of the same Install school I went to. You can get housing for the coarse and I think they have finacial aid available now. ALso you get a 35 % - 50% discount on tools from snap-on. Also You get 10% over cost or better discounts on just about any peice of gear you can think of while you attend. At the end of the corse and many times before you can be placed in a job at Circuit, Best Buy, Tweeter or a mom and pop shop.
MECP makes install books but they will in no way compensate for lack of experience and instruction during real installs.
The School I went to was 7th Row Center Hands-on, tell them Craig sent ya.

It costs $3k and you get 30 in class days not just 4 weeks.
The instructor is friends with alot of big names in the industry Like Fishman and Derrick Kenney. He also has tuned and installed in several serious IASCA competition cars.
The corse covers autosound and remote startes / alarms which are the real bread and butter of the industry in the North East.
His shop is well equipt with routers, drill press, bandsaw and a large capacity table saw. Basicly its better equipt then just about any shop you'll ever work in.
You also work on real cars including your own if you like.
I bought just over $5K in snap-on tools which at discount cost me only, $3250 so i look at it like I only spent $ 1250 on the class.

Kev may be able to help on that front too.
I have heard 2 realy bad things about II.
1. they teadh to the MECP test not the book so your realy not going over everything you should.
2. They work, you watch for the most part or you work on fake things like basic kickpanel that aren't for any car at all so it for goes a whole lot of info you need.
These both may be wrong I heard them from a shop owner that sent 2 guys down to them and they came back just as useless as when they left.

At 7th there were plenty of times I wanted to just watch but Kevin didn't let that happen. If you take on the job your doing it, period. He's always there ofcoarse and lends a hand but its rare that he takes over.

Its class dependant. If thats were your interest is then yes. I got my class into fiber glass. Make sure you learn to make custom panels to make things flush. Its easy and can get you alot of cash in the buisness. I made a good amount just making cover panels for prefab boxes and such to make them look custome and flushed.
