any experience with Phillips & Sylvania H4's
Well it was bound to happen, my Nokya Arctic White H4s just blew out today, lasting all of 6 months. Pretty disappointing durability to say the least.
So for the time being I'm back to stock halogens. I have heard some good things about the Phillips & Sylvania bulbs that are whiter than stock, any experience with these?
And NO I'm not throwing down $70 for a pair of PIAAs

I have the Philips BlueVision H4s on my 3rd Gen. I've had them in since December and they haven't burned out on me yet. The colour of the light is whiter than stock and shows little to no blue in the beam of light. After a while, you will start to notice a bit of pale yellow on your headlights, but still whiter than the stock bulbs. The road shows up okay, but not as much light as you would have if you just left the original bulbs in.
There are a few of the Philips and Sylvania blue bulbs that are street legal. The H4s are not among them...but it would take a really close look for a cop to catch you on that.
So, if you're looking for a whiter light without much of the blue, I'd say go for it. But if you like the "blue look", you should look somewhere else as the little blue that comes from the first few weeks will slowly fade.
The price isn't bad, either. Around $15/bulb.

I have sylvannia cool blues in mine.
I think they are whiter than stock, but still a bit on the yellow side. The reason I say I think is because I never compared side by side w/another sedan using stock bulbs. But it seems the light projected is dimmer overall.
They are cheap though. It cost me $18 for one. I've had it in since mid September 2001.
When these burn out, i'm gonna take a look at the Sylvannia Silverstar bulbs.

Philips Vision Plus is considered the best.
PIAA are being trashed along with Hella(surprise!!!)
Test is for H7, but still it's useful
I am going to Europe in 2 weeks, I'll buy VisionPlus for my PR5.
