Window tinting laws in NS

What does the law say about tinting windows here in Nova Scotia? I've read somewhere that no tint is allowed even on the rear windows.

Anyone have more accurate info? Also, I'm thinking about 35% all around and I wonder whether I will draw unwanted attention from the police. I know that with 28% I probably will.

Thanks.

Check your Province's Ministry of Transportation website ...
You could try asking some cops but they will probably each give you a different answer, and none of them will be the correct one.

Thanks. I've read the motor vehicle act and it says that front windows cannot be tinted at all. I wonder if 35% would get me in trouble. I might just put it off until summer. I hear that tint needs to settle in with some heat from the sun or so, so I guess now is not a good time anyway.

I was told by Trim Line in Dartmouth no tint on the front windows, back ones you can go as dark as you want

Ya same here...I have 35% in the back and 50% up front and i havn't heard any heat about it from the police.

I do know for a fact that it is illegal to tint the front...i suppose it's just a matter of it being worth their while to write the ticket.

The law says no tint on the front windows and says nothing about the back windows so it's as Radd92 said.

Here's the link: http://www.gov.ns.ca/just/regulations/regs/mvstdsve.htm

Section 3, subsection 2

Still hoping to get a loan for my P5.

PilotPro do you have any pics of your car? I'd like to see that tint combination.

Thanks!

I tinted all the windows in my speed 3 Gen 2. The back are allow as dark as you want the front window only can go 45% but it is not allowed if you don't have a doctors note.. or if it came from the factor all tinted out.. I got pulled over in Hfx Ns by the cops and show my doctors note and the only thing the cop said is have a nice day...
