Question inside about strut tower bar

Called the parts depot. to inquire about the price of a strut tower bar and this is what I was told: "I don't think they're available to anything but the mazdaspeed. We're not allowed to even sell them for the protege." I just said O.K. and thank you.

I really want it, and I know mazdastuff.com sells it, but it sounds like my dealer wont even install it for me. What's my next move here? Thanks.

if you really want it, there's a list of all the parts you need to install it into your car (with or without cruise control) in theFAQ.

or get the part number of the strut bar kit off the mazdastuff.com website and go to another dealer who doesn't have their heads up their asses.

i think in the US, you guys can order the entire kit from the dealer, while canadians have to order each nut, bolt, etc. separately, or at least i had to.

Haha, yeah they are really dumb. I'm gonna print out the online brochure and show it to them. They're gonna feel like morons. Obviously they only come to work to collect a paycheck!

Just go to them with the part number (0000-88-C07_-KT)and tell them to look up that number and order it for you. No thinking is involved on their part if you have the #.

Better yet....if you have more than one dealer available to you....take the CORRECT information to the dealer you first delt with....ask to talk to the parts department manager....show him the brochure you printed up....tell him of your conversation with one of HIS employees and how ignorant they were of the products they are responsible to sell...and then follow it with how you are going to the other dealer...for you refuse to deal with a parts department that is so ignorant of their product.

Not bad idea, but I dont think I could do that. I'm not a person who complains a lot. Like if i'm out to eat and my meal is cold or something, I'll just eat it. I dont even bother. We'll see what happens though.

sorry to hear that.....the only problem is...if you ALLOW that kind of service....no one has any reason to ever give you anything but crappy service....

just my opinion.......for I too am not one to make a LOT of waves....that is until it gets into my pocket....or makes me have to go out of my way to accomplish something which should have been easy if the other person knew their *** from a hole in the ground and now I have to do their job too.....THAT torques me up pretty tight.

Sounds like idiots in that parts department. I was interested in getting the MP3 valve cover cover (that sounds wierd doesn't it?).

So anyway, I simply called my parts guy and he looked it up for me and said sure he can order it but he did tell me it would not work on my P5. I asked him for the print out of the diagram and he faxed it to me no questions asked. Now that is a good parts guy. Too bad it would not work but at least I tried.

If I were you I'd order it from MazdaStuff.com, since they are selling it cheaper than a dealer would. Just make sure you get the correct bracket since you have cruise control. I'm sure you could do the installation yourself. All it takes is socket wrench set and about 30 mins if you take your time.

It's an OEM part, so it shouldn't mess up the warranty regardless. Also, they cannot void your warranty by simply adding a modification to it. Try searching for the Magnusun-Moss Act at Google.
