p.s. I also ran my best times on stock tires (16") @ 25psi in the front and 35psi in the rear.

Next weekend I'll be running 25psi on the front and two baby spares on the rear. In the RWD community this usually will drop your time another .1s

"yawn"....how rediculous does it sound to spend $10000 on an engine swap on a car that's worth a total of $9000...pulling the BS flag..really surprised Rod didnt start to the address the "how to get quicker without turbo ?"...how about headers, cams, underdrive pulleys, cam gears, engine management, machine work on head, high compression pistons, lightening the car, lighter wheels, short shifter, PRACTICE !!!

yes the cost of the swap is more than the car but thats not the point in doing it.........the car is a project car.......to complete it yes a lot of money is going to be put in it but it will be worth it in the end......

The reason I didn't bother posting anymore.....his reply to yours!

"it'll be worth it in the end"......uh....to who?!?! Do you think anyone other than current owners give a crap about a protege or M3?? nope. We buy them because they are neat sporty cars.

p.s. I also passed on the comment mentioning the Rotary engine in the pro...(rolleyes)

okay dude,

if you really wanted to do an engine swap, then at least get the facts about the engine u wanna swap in, right....

also dude it aint like a direct swap,
just because u think hondas can easily swap their 4 cyls to another honda 4 cyl quite easily, doesn't mean that you can do the same with other makes....

Also rotary man, there was already a thread on that, i gave alot of info for the rotary engine and what really needs to be done, even tho i wanted the guy to do it, i didn't "believe" he would do it.... here is the rotary swap link

there would probably be alot better swaps out there to perform other than the 2.3L engine......

If you researched more you would know that mazda has a FS-ZE engine, which is alot like your FS-DE....
that engine puts out 170hp (the mazda 3s engine (2.3L) puts out 160hp)
it would be a much much more easier swap to complete, plus people have done it before, but dunt expect to be emissions legal.....

aren't there places that also offer the swap of the KL-ZE V6 engine, which has 200hp.... i think there are places that offer that swap for like $8000+ .... but i think that was only for the 1st gen pros....

man just do some research before posting up ideas which will almost be impossible to go through.....

I was looking into what it would take to drop a 3.0L Yama-hammer motor into my MSP when the motor took a turd on me.

The motor will bolt directly to the tranny and for the most part everything is bolt-up....except for the fact that the engine block is. 3.5"'s longer on the V6 (KL-ZE included). Either have to beat out the front fender or start chopping axles and motor mounts....it IS possible though and that Yamaha motor will SMOKE a 2.3L and even the 2.5L motors....why has no'one used the 2.3L Millercycle supercharger Millenia S motor yet?!?!?

look at the cost and availability on the Miller Cycle engine....spending $10,000+ on a 2.3L swap is NOT worth it...a 30hp bump for $10K ??? wtf kind of logic is that...how about a 100hp bump for like $3500...doesnt that sound a LOT better ? why do people want to shy away from a turbo but they'll want to swap in an expensive engine and tranny...the 2.3L btw doesnt use the standard g series tranny off the 2.0L Pro...so you'll have to include that in your swap along with custom axles....this is sooo rediculous, it will never be done. I hate it when people come on here and talk out of there *** about big ideas they will NEVER EVER do...people with $10K to spend on engine mods do not buy subcompacts, unless you are a dumbass honda owner. If you have all this flow, stop screwing around with a used P5 and go buy a 3rd gen RX-7 or an RX-8 and get some real power.

its about being different. i got ish the first day i bought the car. everyone with the same question "why not just get a RX-7 or supra instead if you want speed?".......but i sucked it up and stuck ith te P5.....if i can get it to where i want thats all the gratification i need....and thi is no b/s....which ever i do to the car, engine swap or turbo......it will get done....

every great idea starts with at least 5 bad ones fist....
