Um, mine is tinted.

Remember, Mazda didn't put in the moonroofs. The dealers have local companies put those in. Inside of my glovebox is the name of the installer, and I am told that there is a lifetime guarantee on it, too.

I've only had my P5 for about six months, but the power is just fine, and the cupholders are useless.

My only complaint is the RED LIGHT at my feet when I turn the headlamps on. I keep my steering wheel on the high side so the bulb for that light shines right at me when I make a turn. The red light on the passenger side doesn't even work consistently! And can someone tell me WHY that light is there to begin with? I know what shoes I am wearing, and my socks always match, so I don't need my car to point that out to me.

I dont have one on the sedan. Thats a....weird feature. oh yah and as far as complaints are concerned has anyone has horrible eletric power distribution? If i use my power windows or locks i can actually SEE my headlights dim. I dont think that can be good, same thing when my bass hits, but i think its the worst if i use any power option i have they dim down. Any ideas on fixing that? lol

I never noticed any power loss or dimming of anything...however, now that I have the yellow top I'm likely to never experience it!

Uh, maybe Mazda didn't install your moonroof, but it was a factory option for the Protege/Protege5.

see i am thinking of investing in an optima battery, but i dont think even it will survive the power of the horrid arizona weather. I would hate to get a nice battery jsut to have it die in a couple years like mine is probably about to do since its been there for more than 2 now.

Yeah...I'm pretty sure mine was from the factory. Can't prove it at this moment because my original window sticker was in the owner's manual and that got ripped off during the break-in

If your sunroof is electrically actuated and retracts into the roof, then it came from the factory that way. If it sits on top and/or is removable, then it is aftermarket. The factory ones aren't tinted, but I just went to my friendly neighborhood Pep Boys and got some static cling tint (wasn't sure if I wanted to leave it on or not). I am still not sure about leaving it, but my girlfriend likes how it makes the sky blue on cloudy days, so I imagine when the weather warms I will do it right and put it on permanently.

ive seen that in a lot of cars, from a nissan maxima, to a toyota rav4. its no biggie. maybe a bigger battery or ground wires might help? i dunno exactly what ground wires do anyway. arent systems carrying a charge designed with a ground anyway? at least thats what i learned in electrical engineering (no, i am not an electrical engineer, but i was required to take ECE301 in college).

I believe you. I just know mine was done at the request of the dealer before the first owner even had the car. It's not factory. I have talked to the local company that installed mine, who even said that my Mazda dealer brings over their new cars for installation.

I'm still excited about having a moonroof. I've never had one before.

My moonroof/sunroof is factory...but my dealership sent over a few cars (mine included) for Katzkin leather installation...and the rest, as they say, is history!
