My first oil change is coming up shortly, what are your guys thoughts on the Valvoline VR1 Racing? No? Yes?

definately better than supertech (walmart) and car & driver oil
that's kind of an ironic reply, they are both valvoline with a different label most store brands are.

"racing" oil isn't going to make any difference unless maybe you "race". generally they just have more additive that have no real effect on normally driven cars.
go synthetic if you believe that you need more protection from hot or cold, otherwise regular dino oil will get your engine a trouble free long life.
