Roof rack cross rails....removable?

Roof rack cross rails....removable?
I don't really want to get a PR5 with the roof rack, but my options are getting quite scarce and if I do eventually have to go with one that has a roof rack, can the cross rails be removed or are they fixed?

Found by using the SEARCH function
You have to remove the headliner. Take off all the stuff. Fill the holes. Buy and install a gutter strip.
