2000 Pro roof rails

The 2 roof rails on my Pro LX don't sit flat down in the channels. I bought the car used but I got to believe they once did.

As you sight down the rails from the front the inside edges on both rails are well out of the channels while the outside edges on both sides do sit in the channels.

I'm calling these rails but they are just filler caps over the channels.

They aren't the easiest things in the world to take off and examine though.

Has anyone seen this problem?

Yes I have the same problem. Iam not worrying about it though. as long as the channels don't stick up to far I wont be bothered with it
