The P5 is a hatchback/station wagon design. The MP3 was a 2001 model year only sportier, special edition version of the sedan. Your 02 2.0 liter LX is a sedan. Since the P5 is shorter than the sedan, its exhaust system is also shorter than the sedan's. This is the only difference between the two exhaust systems so a system made for a P5 will not fit on a sedan.

It's not the ONLY difference, but it's the most prominent.

I believe the difference in length of the exhaust system between the 3rd gen P5 and 02 sedan is the ONLY difference. Except for the body, the P5 and sedan have identical engines, transmissions, suspensions and exhaust systems. True, the DX and LX have 15" wheels but the ES has 16" wheels and the same tire size as the P5, but this in no way affects the exhaust system.

there are several difference, but mostly small ones....there is a conflict of struts/sway bars when witching from the mp3/msp to the p5. I'm not sure if it's the inclusion of a bracket or that a bracket is missing, but I know there are problems there...it's why people swap the subframes over when doing a full swap.

Now are we talking about difference between the mp3 and p5 as his initial request was made or are we comparing difference between the SEDAN and p5?

I thought there were originally two questions:
1. What model is an 02 2.0L LX. My answer was that it is a sedan as opposed to a P5.

2.Spdrcr208 then said he found the greddy exhaust was only made for the P5 (not the sedan). I replied that the only difference between the P5 and the sedan exhaust was the length (the P5 being shorter). I was comparing only the exhaust system between the two models-nothing else. I might have caused some confusion by not being clear enough.
