Pro's Winter Performance?
#16
I've had my pro for bout 2 weeks now, and I haven't had any problems with the cold (well, more like freezing) weather we've been having for a couple days now in Montreal & surroundings...
The car takes about 5-10 minutes to warm up (and that's from sitting all night at -22 C, -34 C with windchill).
No fogging problems: I put it on max hot, full defrost, max power (4), and rear window defrost when I get in and when it warms, leave it at half hot, power 2, defrost/legs; I don't get any fog.
Actually one thing I find nice is that the steering doesn't stay cold very long (compared to cars I've driven before).
In fact, the only thing I've had with the recent cold is the damned traffic! It took me 1:20 to drive the 37km to university today... it's been pretty much like this every day since the cold started... (I've seen more accidents in the last two weeks than in the past two years!)

My new PR5 does well in the winter/snow conditions. The stock tires suck in the snow, but with snow tires the car does quite well in the snow.
I drove my ES 2.0 sedan with 8k's on the Dunlop's and they did terrible in the couple small snow storms we had in Mass last winter, which made me purchase some snow tires w/steelies for this winter. I was able to get 14 inch rims w/60 series tires at a much cheaper cost than 15 or 16 inch rims and tires.
The PR5 transmission is tight in the cold mornings but is okay after a couple miles. Heat is good enough for the cold weather this year. I have had no funny noises from behind the dash in my 01' ES or in my new PR5.
