P5 anatomy questions

I replaced the stock horn in my P5 yesterday. Ugh, what a chore!
Let me tell you what I did, then ask a bunch of questions about
what I saw.

The horn is located between the radiator and the front grille, so I
started by trying to take the grille off and access it from the front.
I took out two screws on either side and two push-in clips on either
side. I couldn't get it off.

There were two additional clips that looked like they wouldn't
come out without breaking.

First question is: how do you get the freakin' grille off this car?

Since that didn't work, I unbolted the radiator clamps and leaned
the radiator against the engine. Then, to my shock, I found another
radiator-looking thing in front of the radiator!

Second question: what's this thing? It looks like a radiator, only
thinner. Is it an oil cooler?

Then, I barely had enough space to work the new horn into where
it needed to go. It really sucked. I got it hooked up, though, and
I like the new horn better than the old one. I don't love it, but it
is OK.

At any rate, afterwards, I decided to clean my throttle body. There
was some black gunk in there, but it looked more like grease than
carbon build-up.

Third question: should I not have cleaned out the gunk? Does it
belong there?

I didn't get much cleaner down past the valve at the opening of the
throttle. Should I have?

I can't help you with the P5 grille. The additional 'radiator' in front of the radiator you saw is part of your AC system. The gunk in the throttle body is oil from the positive crankcase ventilation system. You can clean out as much as possible.

the part in front of the radiator is the a/c condenser. its the cooling for the air cond. the grill removal has been posted on this forum elsewhere.

Removal of front grill

Let me start off by saying the grill is a bitch to get off. The only thing that is holding it on is two screws at the top and a bunch of tabs that "lock" into place. And of course the two long clips that are on the back that run horizontally. I unscrewed the two tabs and pulled up on them to release the tabs on each side. From there u have to pull the grill towards u and up. It requires a quick jerk and u will have to pull harder than u want. I didnt break anything the first time but i did later on; i pulled it off and broke one of the long clips but it still goes in place fine.
