Oh STFU already. People are trying to advise you how to wise spend your money.
My advice: take a writing class. And learn how to communicate properly and show a little respect to some honest advice.

these are the kind of people I try to stay away from.....under-educated and grossly misinformed.

I feel stupider for having tried to help this guy.

Tooslow, good choice of names. Judging by the way you typed I couldn't tell if you were mentally reatrded or "too slow".

Namecalling aside. You have NO clue what you're talking about. You're "scared of tuning". You need a bicycle.

I'm jealous you have $4K in an unsecured loan you really got me beat

your nuts

im not trying to have a shouting match here. you came at me, i didnt start with you. i simply wanted information on a swap not ten people telling me what i should and shouldnt do. and not once did i say i was better then anybody here nor did i say i make more money i simply stated i have the money to perform work to my car. maybe i am ignorant when comes to cars, but im sure as he** not the only one. i have all the info i need on the swap now thanks to one decent person on completely diffrent forum.. when i complete the swap ill post pictures and a write up for the people who would like to hear. for anybody who would like the current information i have which is everything you need to perform the swap please pm i will gladly share what i have.
thanks for the information, but for future referance i would seriously try to be alittle bit more happy go lucky

I was just getting ready to say to go on and proceed with your swap as intended, and just get back to us at that point. No use in arguing over it in my opinion ... but a hint for the future when joining a forum (besides learning how to communicate online effectively) is to try and come off a little more friendly yourself.

You came in here spilling your infinite amounts of knowledge on the options available to put more power into the P5 with only rought estimates of both dollar amounts and HP gains. Not to mention the fact that reliability is something most of us took into consideration when we bought this car, as we certainly didn't buy it to keep up with Evo's and STI's. And I think it's safe to assume that piggy-backing the KL-ZE ECU into the stock FS-DE is probably going to affect performance and reliability in the long run one way or another, because Mazda sure as hell didn't spend millions paying their engineers to develop a computer that would match the engine properly for nothing...

Please make this project happen and prove us wrong for once, until then don't get gnarly if you get criticized because as stated previously we hear stories of plans to develop Twin-Turbo Supercharged KLFSUFO-AWESOMO-5000 powered P5s and nothing ever comes from it...

bottom line is even your average tuner can do basic math...

you think a $4000 turbo kit is too expensive, but you're willing to spend like $8500 to swap in a KLZE, and then you would have less power than the turbo FS ????

unique or not, it just doesnt make sense.....

macdaddyslomo the swap is going to run about the same for a turbo im looking right around $2000 for all of the hardware for swap and i had a guy around here that does all the honda swap give me a price just under $2000 for the install..now whether it ends up costing that much or not is a diffrent story but just from what i picked up through the grapevine it just seemed more cost effective to go with a swap which would leave more room down the road for whatever.

i will finish what i started i have to at this point, He** could you imagine what roddimus would say if i didnt i never live that down..lol..j/k

as far as reliability goes i wouldnt even touch a car if that was the case. Don't get me wrong i need the car to run, but if any of us wanted the cars to run forever we would do just like you said let mazda do what they do. But bottom line you all right it may be smarter to just turbo the car, but i would really regret not even attempting the sawp worst case, iw ind up selling the kl on ebay. best case i wind up selling the fs..by the way once i pull this motor out if anybody is interested i will sell the fs, autotrans, aem sri and mazdaspeed sport tune exhaust package i let you know when im done

take care

i good friend of mine got screwed that way. had a 03 mustang put a body kit and a supercharger on it. shortly after rear ended somebody and since he didnt turn in the reciepts to nationwide they wouldnt cover any of it, you live and you learn. from what he told me as long as you turn in the reciepts and agree to a slight increase in insurance then it should be ok, but i would have to contact statefarm about that one..thanks for the heads up!!

I guess I got lucky then -- last spring I went around a curve a little too fast and spun out on some gravel. I smoked a mailbox and destroyed my carbon fiber side skirt on the curb, and also messed up my door by hitting the mailbox. The insurance guy came and quoted the CF side skirt as a stock one (which was more expensive than DGM's anyway ..) and I got everything covered + $300 into my pocket. for Allied Insurance

it's not that insurance wont cover an aftermarket part per say, but an engine swap is a whole different animal...there is a reason when you insure a car that they ask what the engine size is....even if there was NO horsepower increase , you would be increasing the weight of the car signifigantly, which will greatly affect how a car handles, brakes, and the amount of damage the car will do or take in an accident....

if you modify a car like that and don't inform them, I believe actually it technically ends up being fraud....
