I bet your *** you're burnt out, I'm burnt out after reading your post! Try using some punctuation from time to time. No need to get fancy but at least a period here and there would make it a helluva lot easier to understand what you're trying to say. Please don't take offense to this, but do take my advice on it, especially if you plan on posting on other forums also.

As far as your question is concerned, I don't think there's very much information out there. And to be honest with you I don't think this swap has ever been done successfully in a 3rd gen protege. Not that I'm aware of at least ...

If you can pull it off that'll be awesome, but until then you might have a pretty hard time finding information on this type of swap. Sorry I couldn't help ..

Check out this thread it will help a little

https://www.mazda3club.com/showthrea...highlight=klze

Its the canadian forum that has alot of info on it, there is a link to it on the thread. They should be able to answer any questions you have, you just may have to wait a while for someone who can translate into french for some of the guys there. They were alot of help when i was planning the project, sadly mine fell through when i decided to buy a house instead.

Good Luck

yeah i sorta wrote that one in a hurry. Wife was on my a$$. Well again im trying to do the kl-ze swap into a 03 protege, it has been done before i just wanted to double check and make sure im not forgeting anything important. I spoke to somebody from that forum but didnt get to much from it. basically told me that engine will bolt up along with the trans, the down fall is the wiring but the guy doing the install briefly explained to me something along the lines of a crossover. he would keep my protege ecu and harness piggy back in the klze ecu and use jumper wires to fill in the missing links to the klze motor. He said the connectors mazda uses have not changed a bunch in the past ten years so it shouldnt be a huge hassle. i was just figuring somebody here may have heard a few things regarding hardware i would need from the probe/mx-6. i know the power steering is needed and i guess i need the axles or half shafts. Radiator and fan i have figured out, I think i have this project nailed down...Any open suggestions that are not related to grammer? ( kraziefox ) j/k!! Thanks for everything and if all goes well i should have it done around x-mas maybe even after the new year, ill post pictures and a write up if it gets done

My response is...you're spending WAY too much for not enough power....

a full engine swap that has almost never been done before for 40 hp ????

you realize a turbo kit nets a LOT more for not NEARLY as much hassle...

In defense of the newbie, it would be unique ...
That's what modding's all about right?

ahh yes....

but slapping in a miller cycle engine and making the car AWD would be unique too,
but would it be in the least bit cost effective or even smart ?

We already know them both.

Opinion: It makes no sense to swap a KL into your pro. Too much time/work/money for not enough gain.

Prediction: You have neither the money or motivation (and probably not the know-how) to actually complete this project. Newbs come on here all the time wanting to get info on swapping (insert engine code here; 13B, fs-ze, KL, etc.) into thier 3rd gens. It never happens. Period.

Don't bust his ***** too much without getting a little more information, assumuptions on who he is or what his modivation is dont justify anything. And in defense of the swap, you dont always make a swap for the gains. You do if you the potential, for the fun, or sometimes just for the bragging rights.

yeah you seem to know it all hp and tq gains are to the crank 200hp and 165lbs give or take a few here and there. fs-de motor is great and all but a bit dull dont you think..and as far as getting it in and completed been done before..money is never an issue i saved for a turbo kit that was going to cost me 3200+ install for 180hp..lol..waste of money dont you think.also i could forge the internals and all that woo-hah but for what $6000 for 250hp? i bit over rated wouldnt you say..now i do have the drive to do this but i simply needed to know before i ordered my parts if need the damn axles nobody could answer that for me so im ordering a complete front clip off a mx-6 from flash options for $2000 shipped another $1500 for the install have a writin quote by the way...so my question have been answered ill have pictures hopfully in the next 90 days shipping takes 40-65 days ( boat shipping ) this forum by the way just like every other forum..never telling you anything you need to know just some *** on the other end think he knows what you want..i thought about turbos,superchargers,n20 but when that rides over what else do i have to build on???get a evo right??..sure dont spend $6000 on motor swap and turbo... but buy a over rated $34,000 car for 280hp..ill stick to my plan yours sucks

thanks

you do realize on a BUILT FS people are making more like 375+ whp. and a built bottom end does NOT cost $6000 plus...you can by the whole shortblock alreadt built for you for much less than that

There is an 11 second protege off of mostly just the basic turbo kit hiboost provides...

KLZE's are not 200hp...try like 170

I think people on here would recommend a replacement car as the MS3 at 260 hp for about $22K actually, before an EVO or STi, but do you really think the KLZE is capable of higher numbers than an EVO or STi ???
