My Dad got screwed
He's got a 2000 Mazda Protege. The lease is up in February. The warranty expired in November '03.
He gets in his car yesterday and it doesn't go. He gets it going, but ruff, and brings it to the mechanic. He finds out that he has a defective ignition coil and 2 busted fuel injectors!!
Hasn't had any problems for 3 year...6 weeks after the warrany expires...$1000 worth of repair. That is f-ed up.
Does anyone have access to Mazda service bulletins to see if any of this is covered? I think the ignition coil was a recall and there maybe something about the fuel injectors too (I think I saw something about a TSB from Apr. 02)
