Mr. Clean - From the kitchen to the garage!

Hey guys,

I just picked up a starter kit of "Mr. Clean Autodry."

Being that I spend a ton of time caring for my car and her paint, I figured i'd just *try* it. To my surprise, it worked really well! I have a Black Mica P5 and I was shocked to see that the only spots that were left after the wash were on the back bumper!

It's only $18.99 at Autozone and has a $5 rebate. Give it a whirl, it makes washing the car on my lunch hour much easier!

P.S. Make sure that you use a new sponge to wash it with.

Did you happen to notice the cost of the refill soap and filter?

Nope, haven't modded my car yet. You a Purdue student?

The soap refill and the filter cost $5.99 each.

the refil soap and filter are supposed to be good for about ten washes while the starter kit they give you is only good for three. I've only used mine once and I was surprised at how well it worked, takes all the stress out of trying to dry the whole thing before spots set in, especially since waterspots if left long enough dont wash off. The soap also worked surpriseingly well at pealing off the bugs is hit driving up Highway 5 at 80+ mph.

Yea, I just finished with my second use. Not a spot on her!
I found that the filter is good for 3 uses, but I went through the whole starter bottle of soap with one wash...

Did you guys notice a slimy coat on the paint after using it? I wasn't satisfied with mine and I looked kinda retarded standing there with that big plastic water gun.

Slimy Film?

Are you sure you followed the directions? (Not being a smart ***)

1. Rinse with water (unfiltered)
2. Soap
3. Rinse with water thoroughly(unfltered) *IMPORTANT*
4. Rinse off the unfiltered water with filtered water starting from top of car, going down.

I don't mind the big *** gun. My neighbors already think I'm retard because I wash my car all the time, even when it is 40 degrees out.

Make sure that you use the right soap too, other soaps won't work.

i am planning on trying it this week but this is what i heard too, it leaves slime or film. i read its especially visible on the windows. i'll probably try mine but with my soap. there is i'll wash it normally like i do with meguire's stuff and then i will rinse it off with their filtered rinse cycle or whatever they called it.

haha, retard lol. my neighbors think the same thing of me, i wash my car every friday and they told me i'll rub the paint off. one time a rescue came through my street and went a couple of houses down. i was washing my car, they left and actually came back later to a different house but now to the left of me. they saw me, i was still washing my car, they drove up to me and were like "you still washing your car"? that was pretty funny.

ya, i got myself one of those mr clean things.. it's awesome. it really does dry spotless.

i too thing the gun is way too big.. i will probably end up just washing my car, then using the mr clean to spot-free rinse it only.

slime?

I didnt have a problem with any film or residue on the windows or paint, then again I waxed mine after i washed it. Just use the recommended soap and the recommended amount and it works fine for our small cars, now washing the suburban may be another story...
